Karl Bergdahl earned a bachelor of science degree from Iowa State College in ceramic engineering in 1931. He lived in Des Moines from 1931 until his death February 25, 2001, at the age of 96. He worked as a civil engineer with Deere & Company. His wife, Anne, preceded him in death.
